Panamax ship received and loaded with coal at the CSP of Ust-Luga
JSC "Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga" has received and successfully handled a heavy Panamax cargo ship.
On June 11, Good Hope Max bulk carrier with deadweight of 87.4 thousand tons, length of 225 meters and width of 32 meters moored to the berth of the terminal Yug-2. Loading operations were started on the same day. The total duration of the work was a little more than 2 days.
In total, the holds of the bulk carrier at maximum canal draught at the berths of the CSP of Ust-Luga were loaded with 42.7 thousand tons of export steam coal grade Д. Then, the bulk carrier went to additional loading 74 thousand tons and will soon depart to the destination port of Marmara (Turkey).
"This ship call demonstrated the readiness of our port to receive and handle efficiently heavy vessels of Panamax type. Currently, the ship owners confirmed two more such ship calls, which are planned for the near future", - Evgeny Savkin, Director General of JSC "Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga" said.
JSC "Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga' (CSP of Ust-Luga) is the operator of two terminals in the port of Ust-Luga: the Multipurpose Terminal Yug-2 (MPT Yug-2) and the Auto-Railway Ferry Terminal (ARFT). The total cargo turnover of the Multipurpose Terminal Yug-2 (MPT Yug-2) and the Auto-Railway Ferry Terminal (ARFT) of JSC "Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga" in 2017 was 3,800 thousand tons.
